Annual General Meeting Join us for our first AGM on Sunday September 9th, 12-1pm at the Freedom Rd Community Garden (before the Acoustic Picnic) * Find out what’s been going on down your street * Learn more about our twinning links to Nicaragua * Have your say about future events and activities e.g. carol singing, the community garden, getting to know our twin streets, tree planting * Help to choose the officers for the group (chair, secretary and treasurer) and approve the constitution – have a look at it in advance here. This years parties were held on Sunday April 29th- one on Freedom Road Community Garden and one at Monte Sinai, Esteli.
Albums were exchanged, full of letters and pictures about peoples everyday lives. The parties were a success with sunshine, dancing, food and drink. Board Stupid

Street twinning exhibition
Exhibiting of the Street Twinning Project at Hillsborough College Students Art Show, Tuesday 20th - Wednesday 28th June 2006. Come and see the bunting, smashed up pinata and documentation of the project.
Duo La Cuñada
On Saturday July 8th 2006 we are priveledged to have Duo La Cuñada bringing you songs from the Nicaraguan revolution to the Walkley Community Centre in Sheffield.
Duo La Cuñada are Leopoldo Urrutia Arauz (voice and guitar) and Hannah Given-Wilson (voice and guitar). Leopoldo is a Nicaraguan farmer from a campesino family of musicians. He has dedicated much of his life to revolutionary music and ideals. Hannah is a classically trained musician who first visited Nicaragua to work with a local community project in 2001. Since 2004 they have been living together in the rural community El Limon near Esteli, Nicaragua. This exciting evening is part of the annual Walkley Festival, www.walkleycf.org.uk It is a free event, starting at 8pm and a wonderful opportunity to hear some if the best live Nicaraguan folk music just round the corner from Freedom Rd.
